Fashion Week in Paris is a whirlwind of glamour, deadlines, and the occasional dash of chaos. For Eva Galambos, founder of Parlour X, her experience at the Givenchy show was a delightful detour from the usual runway routine.
Arriving at the Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week, Eva found herself arriving fashionably late. But in a fortunate twist of fate, this placed her backstage, offering her an exclusive vantage point to witness the magic unfold behind the scenes.
This particular show was especially significant as it marked the debut of Sarah Burton as the creative director of Givenchy. Burton, previously the creative force behind Alexander McQueen for over two decades, took the helm at Givenchy in September 2023. Her debut collection for the Autumn/Winter 2025 season was a masterful blend of the brand's rich heritage and her own contemporary vision.
"Sarah Burton’s debut runway as Givenchy’s creative director brought a refreshing and delightful new vision to the brand. Vibrant pops of yellow and red injected a sense of energy, and the collection was essentially her refined touch woven through Givenchy’s "archived” aesthetic. Burton is a very respectful creative director, she always salutes a label’s legacy but infuses it with her own signature. The standout pieces included a stunning new pant silhouette — absolutely flawless, and flattering for everyone — and the shoes, which I’m completely obsessed with."

Backstage, Eva had the unique opportunity to observe the intricate preparations that go into such a high-profile event. From the final touches on garments to the coordinated movements of the models, the atmosphere was a whirlwind of creativity and precision. The energy was palpable, with every team member working in harmony to bring Burton's vision to life.
As the show commenced, the audience was treated to a collection that paid homage to Hubert de Givenchy's original designs from 1952, reimagined through a modern lens. Burton's approach emphasised strong tailoring, elegant silhouettes, and a refined colour palette, reflecting her commitment to celebrating the multifaceted nature of contemporary femininity.
For Eva, being backstage at Givenchy was not just a serendipitous moment but a profound reminder of the artistry and dedication that define the fashion industry. It underscored the importance of embracing the unexpected and finding inspiration in every corner of the creative process.
Sometimes, the most memorable moments are those that occur when least expected.
