Givenchy ushers in a new chapter under Sarah Burton, whose arrival brings both precision and sensitivity to the maison. Known for her craftsmanship at Alexander McQueen, Burton now translates her artistry into Givenchy’s Paris ateliers, blending tailoring with poetic flourishes.
Stepping into her role in September 2023, she unveiled her debut during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025. The collection moved fluidly between sharp suiting cut on the body and gowns in duchesse satin shaped into architectural bows. Chantilly lace, embroidered with lily-of-the-valley motifs, appeared alongside silk velvet poured over the silhouette, revealing her instinct for elevating everyday elegance with haute couture techniques.
Parlour X’s Eva Galambos experienced the intensity of the debut show from backstage: the sculpting of a jacket at the waist, the whisper of bias-cut chiffon, the gleam of polished calfskin bags. Burton described Givenchy as “a jewel,” and the details confirmed it — garments where traditional handwork meets modern gestures of power and grace.
