After much deliberation, the much-awaited winners of 2017/18 International Woolmark Prize have been announced at VIP event during Pitti Uomo at Statione Leopoldo, in Florence.
As part of the esteemed global judging panel, Parlour X director and buyer Eva Galambos was proud to join this annual celebration of emerging fashion talent, helping to name Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice the winner of the womenswear category, and Matthew Miller of his eponymous label the winner of the menswear category.
Eva was joined by the likes of fashion industry heavyweights, including, Amber Valletta, Miroslava Duma, Elizabeth Von Guttmna, Livia Firth, Liya Kebede and Phillip Lim, as well as fellow members of the International Woolmark Prize retail network, for a full day of judging, before announcing the final winners.
Miroslava Duma presented the inaugural Innovation Award, powered by Future Tech Lab, to Christopher Bevans of DYNE.
Of her win, Bodice designer Ruchika Sachdeva said “This is a huge opportunity to expand on what I do and keep doing it… To get the chance to work with these retailer is incredible.”
Similarly, Matthew Miller a expressed similar sentiment, saying of his win “Winning this award is amazing, it’s a dream come true… To be listed alongside the previous winner of this prize is next level.”
As a part of the International Woolmark Prize retail network, Parlour X congratulates all of the 2017/18 international finalists and winners on their incredible achievements and looks forward to welcoming the winning womenswear collection at Parlour X in 2018.
