Valentino’s Spring/Summer2015 collection was inspired by the 18th century tradition of the Grand Tour, which is an educational trip taken by young cultured Europeans to explore the art, philosophy and traditions of Italy. The shoes explore baroque-styled simplicity and romance, which combine faded and vivid colours and reflect the traveller, with flat sandals and light high-heeled footwear. The fascinating rockstud shoe story returns with the pointed high-heel in red leather/red trim as well as nude patent/nude leather trim. The classic high-heels are loved by sophisticated, on-the-go women including Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Rosie Huntington-Whitley, for their light, elegant and feminine attributes. The Ballerina series feature the signature rockstuds and also demonstrates Valentino Garavani’s original passion for modernizing femininity. The Ballerina flats come in colour waves of nude patent/nude leather trim, red leather/red trim, and black patent/nude trim, to suit any occasion. For a more casual summer look there is the thong sandal in a light cuir, which embodies classical simplicity. A particularly desired shoe on the international fashion blogosphere has been the kitten heel, which also comes in nude patent/nude leather trim, and black patent/nude trim. For an edgier Valentino style, there is the ankle strap heel in either nero or light cuir, that is the ideal representation of Italian sophistication and high-fashion with a modern, elegant, and on-trend embellishment of ankle fringing.
