Commencing the 84 looks strong collection; Valentino RTW AW16 was one of the season’s most prodigious. Channelling inspiration, the collection was theatrical and explained from a temporary showroom set up in Andy Warhol’s final Factory, the wood-panelled office of which apparently remains unchanged from the early ‘80s, was Elio Firorucci. The Italian designer, who died last year, was a New York institution whose own influences came from everywhere. “He was local and global,” said Chiuri, “and we think that fits with the way we work.”   With the fashion spotlight well and truly beaming on the searches of avant-garde and different styles – this season Valentino showcased a more simpler, flowing shape than in their pasts, with the likes of fluid jersey dresses; and the extraordinary things in chartreuse, bottle green, and champagne-colour silk velvet.   Among the magical garments that graced the runway, Valentino showcased the season’s shoe must-haves. Commencing with the collection where the rock stud high heels, an elegant and classic heel featured in grained leather in the colour way with additional tonal trim. A heel height of 10cm, this heel is the perfect wardrobe must-have and gives an extra wow factor to any ensemble.  Following in the same colour way is the ballerina flat, weather your wearing them 9-5 or added statements to your casual weekend wear, this ballerina flat can’t be passed.   Alternatively, for a more soft colour approach to the rock stud heels and flats, is the rock stud in soft noisette featured in grained leather.
