This season Valentino continues the extraordinary rockstud story in an exclusive range of bags and shoes. The collection, inspired by the 18th century tradition of the Grand Tour, an educational trip taken by young cultured Europeans to explore the art, philosophy and traditions of Italy, explores Baroque-styled simplicity, Italian romance and vivid colours that reflects the lifestyle of the elegant and hopelessly romantic traveller. The love story continues in shoes as a softer extension of last season’s reds and black’s, with the High Heels, Ballerina flats and Kitten heels all arriving in nude colour ways. The High Heel, a glamourous and statement piece, features in a fully nude patent leather and nude leather trim with the signature rockstuds. The heels are the perfect match for elegant, sophisticated and stylish women. The Ballerina flats demonstrate the pinnacle of modern femininity, which was one of the original passions and intentions of Valentino Garavani in desigining his shoes.  This season the flats take a more neutral turn with a nude patent/nude leather trim colour wave and a black patent with nude trim colour wave, embellished with the signature Valentino rockstuds. The kitten heel is the ultimate shoe for the working woman, however, with a heel height that is transitional for day-to-night occasions. The kitten heel, also featuring in nude patent with a nude leather trim and a black patent with a nude trim, embodies classical simplicity and elegance, with the additional element of comfort for everyday use in its smaller heel height. The Valentino bags this season remain consistent with the theme of romanticism that is inspiring all the Valentino collections. The highly coveted reversible tote now comes in a black and navy colour wave to cater to transitional season style. The reversible tote features in both a large size to fit all the essentials, and a medium size for the woman on the run, and has a been featured on Vogue.com and Business of Fashion, as the must-have bag of the season.
