Founded in 1945 by French designer Céline Vipiana, Céline Paris has stood the test of time as one of the first true luxury brands in the fashion industry. Since 2008, under the creative direction of visionary Phoebe Philo, Céline has redefined what women want to wear, with her minimalist aesthetic, clean lines and tonal colour palettes of the clothing and footwear regarded as the epitome of chic. Céline bags are coveted all over the world, with waiting lists for styles including Luggage bags, Knot bags, Belt bags, Trio bags, Cabas bags and Trapeze bags. Celine SS17 collection draws women to Céline are Philo’s subtly nonconformist taste level. This time it was her brilliant color sense, which demonstrated that distinction—mint green and magenta combined in a low-waisted cotton shirtdress attached to a flowy skirt, with red boots and a bag, for example; or the offbeat shades of lemon and pink in a couple of draped, caped evening dresses. All in all, there was a sense that a Céline woman could go anywhere she needs in these clothes—to the school gate in the trainers, to a meeting in the tailoring, to a gallery opening or a cocktail party—without feeling either underdressed or overdone. It was fashion on an intuitive, clever, understanding wavelength. We know it when we see it—no explanation needed. New for Celine SS17, crisp black long-sleeved dress is the perfect little black dress with an added touch of turquoise or fuschia. Cut to an ultra-feminine silhouette with high neck and drop waist, it twists around the waist to create volume through the ankle-skimming pleated skirt. Wear it to temper a pair of statement-making heels.   Falling fluidly from super-skinny spaghetti shoulder straps, Celine’s SS17 Noir – knee length dress is effortless. Its’ accented with a transparent V-neck at chest and fitted waist, along with a basque skirt that softly flares over the thighs. Try it by day with this season’s backless loafers, as seen on the current IT girls of the fashion industry, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Nicole Richie, Kate Bosworth, Louise Roe, Olivia Palermo and Lily Aldridge. Playing on the concept of fluidity and minimalism for SS17, Celine’s flowy black stretch-fabric skirt echoes the theme with a soft, a-line silhouette that’s tempered by red paneling details. Take your styling cues from the collection, and wear it with a tucked-in blouse and flats, a favorite for all street stylists alike from the streets of Paris, Milan, London and Denmark.
