Acne Studios creative director Jonny Johansson isn't one for political fashion statements, preferring to make clothes that reflect experiences in his inner world. Oversize shapes and work wear silhouettes Johansson used to play out his references were far closer to the brand’s roots; a wise move on his part. In fact, it felt like the baggy dungarees and cropped denim pants embroidered with tonal paisley motifs were a return to the brand's core tenets: Lest we forget that the label used to have the word jeans in its name.   Johansson enjoys experimenting with extreme proportions, and the robe coats and jackets that were finished with utilitarian trimmings struck the right chord.   Acne Studio’s SS17 navy Jada jacket is a short-sleeve double-breasted kimono style, which makes a statement with its pin-stripe pattern. Smart and contemporary, wear yours with tonal wide-leg trousers, for the coolest event look. Acne’s Texel Culottes are smart yet easy to wear. Crafted in navy to sit high on the waist and fall in wide legs, wear your pin-stripe pair layered under the Jada Jacket for a modern office look.   SS17 makes it’s mark with the degrade paisley print, showcased in Acne’s collection. Swap your LBD for Acne’s opulent navy Tennessee Pants come party season. They’re beautifully crafted with a pattern of degrade paisley, and cut with an elastic waist and wide legs for the most flattering finish. Wear yours with the label’s Bai shirt – long-sleeved shirt with collar, also features this seasons must-have print. Together these styles create the ultimate summer look.   Straight from the runway and into your SS17 wardrobe, Acne’s Buran long-sleeved top is dramatically proportioned with it’s crafted layering. The scarves in paisley blue or green is accentuated by the flattering crew neck. Style it with a feminine gathered wrap skirt for frivolous appeal, a current favourite of Olivia Wilde and Jada Pinkett-Smith.   Acne studio’s take on the perennial striped knit is typically luxurious. Spun with blue vertical stripes, the boxy-cropped knit style is detailed with gold ribbed trims at the cuffs and hemline, for subtle definition. With its long-sleeved boxy shape, it is the perfect style for relaxing weekends – keep it chic with tonal cropped trousers and leather loafers.  Alternately, opt for the sleeve-less – Acne’s Bibi Knit top evocates the ultimate in off-duty staples. Crafted with blue stripes and accented with pockets at both sides and gold stitched hemline slip it on over high-waisted jeans or layer with your favourite basic must-have- a celebrity wardrobe must-have which has been spotted on Jessica Alba and Rosie Huntington Whitely to name a few.
