Stella McCartney has yet again succeeded in embedding a sense of ease into a high-fashion collection without deterring from the elegant sophistication that only a Stella McCartney collection can master. This season stories of knits, roomy pants, and military undertones developed on the runway, demonstrating the feeling of comfort, enjoyment and effortless style that the act of dressing should always uphold. Stella McCartney takes her collection to a place where directional as well as functional designs meet. Pants were roomy and comfortable, but still maintained an elegant silhouette, as exemplified by the elastic waisted Jogging Pants and Heather Leggings, both in black. The pants are the ideal transitional basic of the season, representing sophistication and comfort with the ability to be worn casually, formally or as a piece in a work outfit. The Jogging Pant, in particular, hints at the high-fashion Sportsluxe trend while still loyally maintaining the individuality of a Stella McCartney piece. Knits are graceful and follow the lines of the body, with cutouts at the waist for a classically unique, and sexier edge that is typical of a Stella McCartney piece.  This is exemplified by the Asymmetric ribbed knit story, which has been a featured favourite of the fashion media such as Glamour.com, Style.com and Business of Fashion, for its unique yet adaptable design. The Asymmetrical story comes in the staple colours of black and powder for the ability to be transitional and easily matchable, and features in a mid-length skirt, a sleeveless shell crew neck top and a sleeveless asymmetrical racer back cut top. Stella McCartney leads the return of the demin trend into the new season on the runway in this collection.  She features the increasingly popular, 70s style culottes with her consistently elasticised waist and wide legged theme in denim, as well as a denim skirt embellished with another Stella McCartney custom – an asymmetrical hem. In typical Stella McCartney fashion, this collection blends high-fashion trends with statement Stella McCartney embellishments that add individuality, fun and of course, comfort, to any fashionable wardrobe. Zigarette embroidery is utilised in this collection in a more casual capacity for more stylish and outgoing everyday wear. The short sleeved V neck top features in navy and has been an off-duty model look favourite. For a more composed look, there is also the sleeveless neoprene zigarette embroidered tunic, as commonly featured on the pages of Vogue and Elle as a wardrobe staple. The zigarette story comes in the seasonal colour wave of navy. The most standout piece of the Stella McCartney Runway SS15 collection is the short-sleeved mix mesh jersey dress. The dress features elegantly ornamented floral applique and is a feminine and stunning silhouetted piece that comes in marine and black. It can be paired with the stretch Cady thin lapel suit jacket on a breezier day, for a sophisticated and composed social or working look.
