Buying appointments during runway season are more fast-paced and exhausting than their pre-collection counterparts. Although pre-collections are usually bigger collections, managing to fit several buying appointments in between two or three runway shows everyday is no mean feat but something that we have become accustomed to!
Our first set of appointments were at the Valery Demure showroom where we saw three new jewellery collections –Delfina Delettrez, Jennifer Fisher and En Inde.
Delfina Delettrez is part of the Fendi family, and she launched her own collection of jewellery in 2007. Her pieces have become an international hit, in particular her Evil Eye Range. This season we chose a small selection of bracelets, rings and ear-pieces to arrive in store in July 2015.
Jennifer Fisher is an American stylist-turned jewellery designer whose gold and silver plated chunky jewellery has found a large following internationally.
We love the bow-detail cuffs, spiral rings and spiral cuffs from Jennifer Fishers AW15 collection.
En Inde is a fantastic new collection from India that specialises in creating statement neckpieces using coloured cotton, leather and metal. The design duo behind the collection seek to tell their story of India by mixing different elements and textures in their designs.

Victoria Beckham’s Winter Collections tend to be centred around her signature knitwear. However this season we saw some standout pieces in her evening wear – in particular a floor-length silk gown and an off-the-shoulder bow detail dress that will be perfect for September weather in Australia.
Parlour X has been carrying EK Thongprasert for over three years now and it is very exciting to see how the brand has grown and developed since our first season back in 2012.
For Winter AW15, EK has continued with both his ‘iconic’ EK Thongprasert neckpiece shapes and also the newer floral styles.
One of the new season style we selected, the floral motif, is one of the strongest themes in this season’s collection.
In the showroom with EK!
Australian designer Toni Maticevski also showed in Paris and it gave us a chance to see his AW15 collection up close and in-person. This season Maticevski presents his signature full fluted skirting, crop tops and show-stopping gowns in a monochromatic colour palette of grey, white and black.
Proenza Schouler's AW15 collection is one of its most intricately detailed yet. Many of the show looks were displayed in their showroom in the Marais and the details and embellishments this season are very impressive.
This season Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are inspired by the works of minimalist sculptor Robert Morris and Abstract Expressionist painter Helen Frankenthaler. These two opposing influences create a very ‘artistic’ collection with dresses featuring painted prints and skirts with cut-outs that look like paint splashes.
The PS11 next season will be available in a fantastic lined leather in black and this burnt orange.
COMME DES GARCONS
Inside the very busy ComCom showroom appointment. As we always have our appointment straight after the ComCom presentation the showroom is always intensely busy with buyers. Rei Kawakubo’s winter collection returned to the classic Comme schoolgirl theme with sailor-style tops and jackets, pinafore dresses and pleated silk skirts.
Our selections from ComCom this season. Trapeze-style quilted coats featured prominently in this season’s presentation and we love the polka dot and leopard printed versions. We will also be receiving classic-Comme polka dot shirting in a range of different fabrics and styles.
This season’s Junya Watanabe collection is inspiring! The honeycomb pleating that featured on the show’s headpieces and garments shows the attention to detail that is Junya’s signature.
Our selections this season include lurex cardigans, pleated skirts and the tuxedo-style drop crotch pants that featured in the runway show.
A close-up of the honeycomb pleating in the showroom.
A sneak peek from inside our Isabel Marant appointment.
Isabel Marant’s recent Winter collections have largely not been print-focused. With this collection, Isabel takes the opportunity to re-introduce her signature winter prints on high-waisted jeans and skirts and introduce nautical style knits that will be on everyone’s wish list.
This printed silk story plays an integral part in this season’s collection and we will be receiving dresses, skirts and tops (including this style) in this season’s signature print!
This season, Alexander Wang is inspired by the aristocratic clientele that frequented Cristobal Balenciaga’s original atelier. This influence is reflected in luxurious jacquard and woven silk fabrics and signature metallic detailing.
There is also a distinct Oriental influence in this collection; kimono-style shirting and a spray jacquard short-sleeve and long-sleeve shirt that were main features in the runway show.
Inside the Balenciaga showroom.
The Balenciaga Glove Wedges were very popular last season and have been re-introduced this season in an open-toe version.
The new Cabas totes this season are available in neoprene fabric and bright and contrasting colours.
Claire Waight-Keller’s winter collection for Chloe is heavily-inspired by the 70’s and this inspiration is evident in the feature prints and silhouettes of the season – including this dress.
Some of our Chloe selections from this season’s showroom. Tailored suiting also features heavily in the winter collection in waistcoats, jumpsuits and cropped jackets.
As well as the signature prints of the season, we also chose the most iconic runway piece – the knit poncho!
The Drew Bags are now available in a large range of different colours and fabrics.
Another highlight from this season’s Chloe runway show are the lace-up boots which will be available next season in black and tan leather.
As usual, the Balmain showroom was full of show-stopping vibrant colours and textures. The runway show this season was full of 70’s inspired silhouettes and Rouesting’s Balmain army looks to be wearing a uniform of flared pants and mini-dresses with Balmain’s signature shoulder pads.
Our selection from Balmain this season is very classic - double-breasted blazers, silk pencil skirting, velvet cardigan jackets and ruffled skirts.
After the stellar Kenzo runway show, we were excited to see the winter collection up close.
Selections from our Kenzo showroom appointment.
With the incredible success of the Kenzo Tiger and Eye jumpers, we are excited that Kenzo has continued to develop their sweaters. In particular we are looking forward to the new Bamboo Tiger jumper and tee shirts which offer a more sophisticated sweatshirt option for your wardrobe.
We love the Stella McCartney winter collection! This season Stella offers fantastic jacquard paisley dresses and separates and her classic silk shirts, tops, dresses and pants in a range of colours, prints and textures.
Fringing on bags and shoes has become a huge and continuing trend with many designers and we love how Stella McCartney has re-invented her iconic Fallabella bags with fringing in rich colours like Bordeaux and Camel.
The Stella iPhone cases have been a hit in-store and we are looking forward to receiving cross-body versions in a range of colours.
The Celine runway collection this season is a step in a new direction for Phoebe Philo. Her winter collection is described as ‘sexier’ than previous shows with a distinct flamenco influence present in many of the pieces. Our selection focuses on more of the classic Celine pieces in the collection – including the printed oversized shirts that feature illustrations of foxes, cyclists and ballerinas.
Along with the classic and sought-after Belt Bags and Trio bags, we will also be receiving the Celine Medium Luggage Bags in a range of different colours and colour combinations.
Celine runway shoes are generally one of the most talked about topics at Fashion week. This season Philo presents block heels with basket weave detailing that we will be sure to see next fashion week!
Our Valentino appointment is held in their offices in Place Vendome and we are always welcomed by a beautiful display of their runway looks.
Next season we will be receiving many different styles of Valentino Rockstud bags including cross-body flap bags, pouches, clutches and wallets.
As well as the ever-popular patent nude colour way, we will be receiving the Valentino Rockstud High Heels, Kitten Heels and Ballet flats in Ivory!
This season’s Hedi Slimane’s signature print from the AW15 runway show is the lipstick print. We will be receiving shirts, dresses and a bag in this fabulous Saint Laurent print
We managed a sneaky shot from inside the Saint laurent showroom of the new shopper totes that will arrive next season in Grey and Black.
The boots of the season are definitely going to be the Saint Laurent boots that were in the runway show! With a killer heel and pointed toe, this style is sure to be another worldwide hit for Saint Laurent.
