In With The New:
In the world of luxury fashion there are a handful of key pioneers. Think the likes of Valentino, Fendi, Saint Laurent
. These designers pioneer the fashion industry with their rich design codes and standout collections; however, there’s an ever-growing crop of notable contemporary designers who deserve your attention.
Focused on representing more diverse and exclusive product to sit alongside the most covetable luxury designers in fashion, Parlour X founder and buyer Eva Galambos has expanded Parlour X’s edit this season to include six new contemporary designers – all of whom you should be keeping on your radar.
Founded in 1961 by André Courrèges, the iconic French House is being redefined by German designer, Yolanda Zobel.
Zobel's resume requires mentioning, with previous positions held at Giorgio Armani, Chloé, Jil Sander and Acne Studios – the latter of which she brought her design team from.
Since presenting her first collection for the fashion house in September, Zobel has brought forth a new concept for Courrèges that includes a futuristic take on modern shapes and metallic and sporty highpoints.
2. Magda Butrym
Founded in Warsaw in 2014, Magda Butrym is a luxury ready-to-wear brand that fuses contemporary design with timeless craftsmanship. Each piece is handcrafted for the modern woman – featuring hand woven textiles, hand plaited leathers and embroidered ornaments made from local craftsmen from local regions in Poland.
Handcrafted excellence is a staple in Butrym's work, offering a unique approach to dressing up for the every day. With a slight eighties’ undertone, watch this Polish designer closely for what she has up her blouson-style sleeve.
3. MM6 by Maison Margiela
After a brief hiatus we proudly welcome back MM6 by Maison Margiela to the Parlour X stable of brands.
Originally known as Line 6 when it was established in 1997 by fashion hero (and notoriously mysterious) Martin Margiela, the label has since created legions of devotees with silhouettes that emulate the brand’s non-conformist approach to fashion, setting the standard for contemporary design.
MM6 by Maison Margiela brings a crisp perspective to deconstructed but relaxed contemporary womenswear and accessories. A standout in our new contemporary lineup.
If you’re seeking to update your look with an artistic style, London-based Scotria is your go-to for fusing innovative design with detailed craftsmanship.
The brand is built on a thirst for innovation and technology, and the pursuit of responsible and sustainable manufacturing cycles; as well as its desire to challenge perceptions of accessories by subversion of materials and techniques. After a tenure at JW Anderson, creative director Jen Murray developed Scotria's bags by combining leather and Italian Perspex to be bound in a streamlined silhouette.
5. Sener Besim
Debuting an exclusive selection of eyewear and fine jewellery, the independent luxury brand is exclusive to Parlour X and sits within best luxury retailers in the world.
Each piece of Sener Besim jewellery or eyewear is meticulously crafted by hand in 18-karat gold or sterling silver and often feature turquoise and onyx crystal. It's timeless statement accessories at their finest.
Luxury leather goods brand Wandler is the new non-it, it brand.
Clear in function and shape, Wandler shoes a distinctive aesthetic: elegant with unexpected dimensions and a dynamic use of colours. Embodying modern femininity, each bag is a reflection of the designer Elza Wandler – who founded her namesake brand in 2017.
Its distinctive aesthetic is seen on the streets of Paris, London and Milan fashion week on the arms of the most fashionable women of the world. Elegant, modern and polished, Wandler seamlessly fits into any wardrobe and now makes its home at Parlour X.
Commit these designers to memory because their contemporary offering and fresh fashion perspective are one-of-a-kind.
