Mykonos may have a reputation as being the party capital amongst its idyllic Greek Island neighbours but, as Parlour X's Director, Eva Galambos discovered, it can also be the ideal location for a family holiday with some impressive and unique dining options. Here, she shares her ultimate guide to the best eateries in Mykonos - with and without kids.

Eva, what's your perfect day in Mykonos with family?

Mykonos is a beautiful Cyclades island reachable via Athens in one hour. It has a sense of luxury, party, amazing beachside venues and food.

This is what my average day on holiday in Mykonos looks like: wake to breakfast 9 or 10am, then swim and laze around your hotel pool or villa pool (or work in my case) until 2pm. Time then to get organised for lunch by a beach, complete with idyllic ocean views and eating. Afternoons are spent at the beach through to the evening. As Mykonos can be windy, a little retail therapy can be done in the Main Town or around Little Venice. Then back to your hotel late to prepare for dinner and out until wee hours... And then do it all again! Be sure to throw in a boat trip or two around the island with parties or siestas at friends' homes, hotels and villas.

List your best spots for a seaside lunch:
Alemagou Beach - a hotspot for beachside afternoon lunch and drinking. From 3pm onwards it really comes alive. You can take the kids, but past 3pm perhaps it's better without.

Solymar at Kalo Livadi - modern luxury and ideal for an afternoon lunch between 2-3pm. Definitely kid-friendly, with superb food!

Nammos Psarou Beach - the original beach bar in Mykonos, and for good reason. It's where all the European celebrities dock their yachts. Past 7pm, it's an extremely fun, loud, and a messy dance party on the beach and in the restaurant. Dancing on lush beach beds or tables inside means no kids for this. Spilia Seaside Restaurant - a favourite among the Australian crowd, Spilia means cave in Greek and is set in the cliff like a cave - so beautiful! Lunchtime from 2pm, take the kids for a fun day of cliff or rock jumping in pristine waters. A sunset dinner is exquisite from 7pm.

Scorpios at Paragka - a gorgeous and picturesque setting. Great for lunch while in the evenings it can be a big night club. On Sunday's it's a big dance party with Sneaky Sound System on the decks for 'Sneaky Sundays' - think Icebergs Dining on New Year's Day!

Panormos - another seaside lunch or dinner, which is super-relaxed and appropriate for a day of lounging in lush deck chairs in the sun.

Kiki's - good for kids with amazing food. It's all about the food experience here, as there are no beach beds. Prepare for a wait with a no reservation policy. 12pm is a good time to go, even though the tavern opens at 1pm. Perhaps one can wait in line while others can swim!

Best places in town for dinner?

Ling Ling - a unique restaurant experience owned by Hakasan.

Katrin - considered best restaurant in town for traditional Greek food. Best for a late dinner from 9:30-10pm, so no kids. Super delicious.

Uno Con Carne - ideal for a 7pm with kids. An Argentinian-style steak house and oyster bar in a stylish atmosphere.

Sea Satin - a gorgeous seafood restaurant in-town, with late-night dining. Think 10pm or even midnight. No kids.

Catari - an Italian restaurant which is good for kids and an early-night dinner.
