Inspired by the inspirational American novel Freedom by Jonathan Franzen, this season’s MSGM sees the interlacing of the themes of birds and music into youthful and ornamental looks. Creative Director Massimo Georgetti utilises delicate fabrics in contemporary silhouettes to showcase his ability to provide the world with a creative, outgoing, spirited and fun collection without deterring from MSGM’s traditional standard of sophistication. The prominence of silhouetted designs is exemplified by the sleeveless lace slip dress that portrays a floral lace construction, resembling the natural elements of the season. The mini-length dress is the staple of the MSGM SS15 collection, bringing an additional element to the more simplistic overlays and blouses also prominently featured on the runway. The lace slip dress comes in colour waves of white, orange, navy and black – a variety of seasonal and tonal colours to match with any outfit or occasion.Aside from the standout prints on the runway, the colour palette stayed reasonably neutral in the Japanese inspired boxy designs. The short-sleeved Shell Top represents the element of sophistication always present in an MSGM collection. It is a basic, yet standout piece featuring an additional feminine embellishment of tie-ups that highlights the inspiration of youthful freedom evident in this collection. The Shell Top comes in staple colours of white, black and navy and is a favourite of every fashionable woman’s wardrobe. The Shell Top has also featured prominently on high-fashion editorials including Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar as a must-have piece for the season.
