Since its conception, MSGM’s unique celebrative spirit and indie-music inspired creations have constantly refreshed the fashion world and the Resort 2015 collection does no less. MSGM continues to impress and revitalise the fashion world. Keeping with his reputation for abstract inspirations, Massimo Giorgetti stated that this season’s jumping-off point was an old sofa print. The sixties-style, oft-mocked print is elegantly displayed and transformed into high fashion by Giorgetti’s use of length, as seen by the maxi and midi floral skirts and the long floral coat. The skirt and coat paired with the long sleeve fitted crop top makes for a uniquely sophisticated summer high fashion look. Long coats and crop tops are evidently an underlying theme of Giorgetti this season with the black and grey striped coat and the sleeveless black and grey striped crop top featuring as the perfect standout separates that can be paired with the elastic waisted low crotch pants in white or black. The elastic waist feature is representative of the “American girl going to college in the late fifties” look that also inspired this collection. The sporty and confident girl takes college sports seriously and reflects this in her style as demonstrated by the satin shorts, satin top and satin volume dress, which all come in black and white and feature a light purple panel on the side hem, resembling varsity-style wear. The “eco-leather” or faux leather tops in both blue and yellow, also reflect the fifties college girl inspiration and is consistent with MSGM’s passion for crop tops this summer. Overall, the kid-like and energetic mood of Giorgetti is reflected in the range of athletic and 50s/60s inspired pieces that are standouts as separates and knockouts when paired together, making MSGM Resort 2015 a must-have feature for every high fashion summer wardrobe.
