Mary Katrantzou’s printed pieces have developed a devoted It-girl following.  Jessica Alba was spotted wearing one of her breathtaking print-emblazoned creations at the Red Carpet Fashion Awards. Alexa Chung, Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce, Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Scarlett Johannson and Keira Knightley and global fashion icon and Editor-at-large of Vogue Nippon, Anna Dello Russo are among some of Katrantzou’s biggest fans! For the label’s very first Resort collection, the kaleidoscopic Greek-born, London-based designer referenced faraway landscapes, a colourful continuation of the landscape theme explored in the Autumn Winter 2013 collection. This season Parlour X has received an amazing selection of pieces from Mary Katrantzou’s Resort 2014 collection- from loose-fitting sweatshirts and silk shifts to shirtdresses and structural skirts, there is something for everyone. Katrantzou’s Resort collection features incredibly wearable shapes and silhouettes, yet the textures and fabrics that have been used are super luxurious. Hyper-coloured florals and landscape scenaries beyond your wildest dreams feature prominently on all pieces in the collection. This season, Katrantzou’s vivacious digital prints also appear on soft stretch-cotton sweatshirts (available in Effloresence and Twist), which are perfect for off-duty dressing.  The Blush Coat in Harbour Blue is at the top of every fashionista’s wishlist this season. The collarless coat features an all-over high voltage landscape print, a statement update on classic outerwear. The semi-sheer DG Blouse Dress in Suddenly features Katrantzou’s signature bright cityscape print. The DG blouse dress is both elegant and laidback, making it the perfect transitional piece for day-to-evening dressing. The Bolli top in Underwood is a beautifully structured top featuring cap-sleeves and a paneled peplum hemline, making it a perfect separate to pair with a pencil skirt or jeans. The Panel skirt in Silver Lake is an innovative take on the A-line skirt, with the primary aim of enhancing the length and shape of the legs. The panel skirt is fitted at the waist, extends into a structured flare skirt and is screen-printed with a vivid blossoming landscape. The ¾ sleeve silk shift dress is a signature classic silhouette of Mary Katrantzou’s ready-to-wear collections and is the perfect transeasonal piece as it can be worn alone on warmer days or with black opaque tights in the cooler months. Katrantzou’s figure-flattering shift dress falls just below the knee and this season is available in two divine prints – harbour lilac and walker desert.
