Internationally renowned Spanish luxury house, LOEWE has a 170 year-strong history of superb craftsmanship and luxurious elegance. The Madrid-based fashion house has a unique history of a family's dynasty with Enrique Loewe Lynch (great grandson of the company’s founder) as their figure-head today. In 2014, Jonathan Anderson (Founder and Creative Director of British fashion brand, JW Anderson) took over as Loewe’s Creative Director. Under Anderson, Loewe embarked on a new chapter, presenting itself to the world more multi-faceted and dynamic than ever.   The set—installed in the UNESCO House, an avant-garde landmark from 1958—had cream carpet, ceramics, lamps, and massive video screens playing an art film on a loop. This woman, then, lives surrounded by her collection of contemporary objects and art. Her latest acquisition, apparently, is a conceptual video piece, Offshore, by Magali Reus, showing two men swimming out into an ocean, endlessly struggling to bring floating oil barrels back to the beach. Whatever else it meant (man’s ceaseless fight against pollution? a chance to contemplate the sight of two hunky men in wet clothes?), it also brought in a sense of the outdoors—fresh air, summer—all suggestions of the environments these clothes will be worn in.   The collection also included almost an entire exhibition of accessories as well. A whole gallery of shoes walked by—low-heeled boots, which fused sock with cutaway loafer; kitten-heeled summer sandals; Victorian ribbon-laced booties.   Spanish label – Loewe’s white and blue criss-cross dress has an undone, effortless feel. Designed with an asymmetric high neck, long-sleeves and front bib, which all can be perfectly balanced with androgynous leather loafers, for the ultimate SS17 on-trend ensemble.   Loewe’s black and multi-coloured scarf top is crafted with statement detailing of a Chinese garden print on the front. Designed for an oversized fit, this short-sleeved, crew neck top can be worn layered over a wardrobe long-sleeve staple or enhances with loose silhouettes, such as this season’s wide-leg jeans.   When it comes to taking the statement sweater to luxurious new heights for SS17, Loewe’s long-sleeved-wool design showcase a striking central cat motif, and bordered with a flattering crew neckline.  Ribbed and striped detailing outlines the label’s slim, body-skimming silhouette. Wear yours tucked into high-waist skirts and trousers.   Placing its stamp on this season’s pleated trend is the pleated tiered shawl dress. Its cut with a crew neck that’s accented with Bordeaux trimmed shawl and is shaped to nip in at the waist before falling to the calf. Nude sandals will complete the navy blue colour way with an air of modern elegance.   Mastering a supremely versatile piece this SS17, is the Loewe knit floor length dress. Its crafted for a beautifully soft look and feel, and shaped for a streamlined fit with a crew neck. Work it with neutral suede loafers in the office, and fresh white trainers come the weekend to showcase the eye-catching stripe black and blue pattern.
