Since 1994, Isabel Marant’ s fashion label has been the leading pioneer for Parisian chic, exceeding expectations and setting new standards in high fashion with every new collection. This season Isabel Marant incorporates Asian inspired shapes and geometric themes to create styles that are unique, composed and sophisticated, typical of an Isabel Marant mainline collection. The ultimate simplicity and composure of an Isabel Marant piece is embodied by the basics. The slightly oversized Gavin top is long-sleeved and light for summer, reflecting the modest but still season-appropriate clothing worn in Asian cultures. The Varden shirt, also long-sleeved, features the additional embellishment of full embroidery and a popper closure through the centre meaning it can also be worn with another Isabel Marant top underneath. The Wes Top, which comes in both black and white, is a simple yet necessary addition to every Isabel Marant wardrobe. The sleeveless cotton shirt is crisp and rectangular shaped, representing the geometric theme of the collection and features a netted V-shaped panel down the middle, again reflecting a heavily Asian influenced style. The Wes top can be paired with the square shaped, draped Alanis skirt, in either white or burgundy, for a sporty yet feminine summer’s night or day look. The black Henrick jacket is the standout outerwear piece of the season. The fringed detailing and flecks of texture throughout the piece strongly resemble Asian influenced tailoring and fabrication. Worn over the Mamet T-shirt it is the perfect jacket adaptable to a corporate and sophisticated, to summer evening dinner look.  Movie star Emma Stone was recently spotted in the Henrick Jacket  whilst out in Hollywood. This season the classic knit has been revitalized with a little Isabel Marant glamour. The Samoa Knits, coming in the collection’s favoured colours of black, bronze and burgundy are loose fitting and short-sleeved, with a V-neck for a stylish, summer take on a basic wardrobe staple.  These knits have already been spotted on Alexa Chung, Miroslava Duma and Miranda Kerr, all of whom layered them with collared shirts for a chic-winter outfit. The pinnacle look of this season’s Isabel Marant collection is the Allen Top paired with the Volta skirt. Both pieces feature intricate embroidery and unevenly shaped edges that fully embody the Asian-inspired story that is told by Isabel Marant in the Pre-SS15 Mainline collection.
