For Australia designers looking to crack the international stage, Paris has always been the Holy Grail. Melbourne-based collaboration Strateas Carlucci has and still continues to design collections as one concept, without a specific gender targeted. As a part of the brand’s vision, Men and Women collections co-exist as one, which make sense as the style are shown on the runway together.   The collection, dubbed SURVEIL, was inspired by the censorship which exists in an increasingly public society that is constantly connected, the fashion label has acquired in a short time a devoted it girl following including Blake Lively, Katie Holmes, Brooklyn Decker, Sienna Miller and Rachel Bilson, to name a few.   Explored the complexities through playful fabric innovations, restrained tailored forms versus exaggerated silhouettes, whilst maintaining the brand’s masculine-feminine aesthetic and combination of sportswear finished and luxury tailor.  Opening the show with the extended knick shirt dress, a long-sleeved high neck collar with stripe print and long back in the Colour way black and rust, this dress explores the complexities of playful fabric innovations, restrained tailored forms versus exaggerated silhouettes.   Following this theme of fabric innovation is the funnel macro stripe top, featuring short-sleeved boxy cropped top with high neck comes in two desirable colour ways, black and black with rust striped detailing, which maintains the brand’s masculine-feminine aesthetic. This stylish funnel top have already been coveted by the who’s who of cool girls worldwide, including, Victoria’s Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr, Beyonce Knowles and Jessica Alba.   Crafted from calfskin, the zip track leather skirt is the perfect mini for this season. With statement zips and wool fabrication at the back, this mini features a longer backing combining a sportswear finishes and luxury tailoring.   The statement must-have in this collection is the harness top, a sleeve-less V-neck top with racer back features adjustable straps. Wear this beautifully crafted top layered on top of a white blouse for added contrast or on its own as a node to this seasons’ cold shoulder.   Lastly, but certainly not least is the Funnel macro top, a short-sleeved boxy cropped top with high neck, featured in bark black jacquard, this cropped top is apart of the ever-expanding portfolio of must-have runway pieces.
