My buying trip for Pre-Collection Spring/Summer 2015 is always quite a different experience compared with my usual whirl-wind Paris trips every 10 weeks. Continuing a tradition, each July I bring my young family with me to Paris so we can enjoy a summer break after the intense focus on showroom appointments and buying. And this buying trip has been particularly interesting and BIG since we will be welcoming exciting additions to the Parlour X portfolio; some of which you will see in this blog and others that will be announced later in the year....Stay tuned! MARY KATRANTZOU My first showroom appointment this season was Mary Katrantzou's Resort collection. Inspired by Disney's Fantasia and the art of storytelling through font, symbols and calligraphy, this season's collection was light but intricately detailed and beautiful in its' range of colours and textures. Inside the showroom with some of my choices for next season... Some of my style selections from the buying appointment. Prints and texture feature, as always, in this season's collection... ISSEY MIYAKE The Issey Miyake Bao Bao bags have just landed at Parlour X but are already a huge hit with our first delivery almost selling out. This season I have expanded my buying with Bao Bao to include many different shapes including clutches, small and medium totes; all of which will arrive in a variety of colours including the pastel Lucent range! Some different colours and shapes of Bao Bao bags from inside the showroom. PROENZA SCHOULER I am excited to announce that American-based label, Proenza Schouler, will be available at Parlour X from January 2015! Peplum jackets, asymmetrical tops and pants, shibori-printed dresses and tops and printed skirts will arrive early next year! BALENCIAGA One of my favourite buying appointments this season was Balenciaga. Although I didn't love the initial lookbook, the RTW, bags and shoe collections inside the showroom were brilliant, and I am very excited for my selections to arrive in-store. Unfortunately Balenciaga is very strict with picture-taking in the showrooms for pre-collection. Luckily I managed two sneaky shots of an amazing coat and Le Dix bag that is Balenciaga's new signature IT bag! CHLOE Our first season of Chloe has arrived in-store and is a huge hit with Parlour X clientele. Claire Waight Keller's influence on the house of Chloe has been incredibly dynamic and her collections every season just get better and better...Chloe is the next BIG brand and is already the most coveted and worn brand on the streets of Paris! Tonal blue and white selections from inside the Chloe showroom. In the buying appointment with one of my favourite pieces from this collection! Chloe bags have also become a world-wide hit with the Clare and Drew bags being seen all over Paris Haute Couture Fashion week. ISABEL MARANT The biggest buying appointment of every trip is Isabel Marant pre-collection. This appointment includes Etoile, Mainline, Shoes and Accessories. This season Isabel Marant has continued her bohemeian-chic aesthetic with printed summer dresses, broiderie anglaise detailed skirts, dresses and tops, and fringing on jackets and tops. Fantastic sandals, Bobby Sneakers, Cluster Boots and Isabel Marant's iconic Dicker boots are also continued and popular for this coming summer. JEROME DREYFUSS Fantastic colours and new styles from the Jerome Dreyfuss showroom appointment this season. I am enjoying buying Jerome more and more every season! More style selections at Jerome Dreyfuss. MSGM Cute and bright style selections from MSGM. I loved this MSGM coat! VICTORIA BECKHAM Victoria Beckham has become on the most-coveted new designers on the fashion-week schedule and Parlour X will be receiving Victoria Beckham in late 2014. The collection featured striking dress silhouettes with options of sleeve-less and short sleeve in colours of navy and black. SAINT LAURENT The Saint Laurent pre-collection this season was very much influenced by the men's show, which also featured thirteen women's outfits. Embroiderey featured prominently in both the show and the women's RTW collection and reflected Slimane's "Psych Rock's New Rising" anthem for the men's show. Expect 60's rock chic mixed with western/prarie influence with braided military jackets, button embellishments, fringing, tapestry detailing and skinny silhouettes. Like Balenicaga, the Saint Laurent showroom is extremely strict about taking pictures. This does not include taking snaps in the specially set-up Saint Laurent dining room in the Grand Palais! Scenic and delicious.... VALENTINO This season I also added in a side day-trip to Milan to buy Valentino Pre-collection. The Valentino Pre-collection showroom is only showcased in Milan, unlike the Runway collection which is also shown in Paris. However this season I decided it was a must venture, and thankfully I did as the collection was one of my favourites! But it is Valentino - so who can be surprised! A shot from inside the taxi of the Duomo on my way to the Valentino showroom. Valentino has continued its' butterfly print of last season; this season it features on coats, dresses, tops, pants, shoes and even bags! Beautiful selections from Valentino's resort collection. I LOVED these rockstud sandals!
