Jewellery designer Noon Passama and fashion designer Ek Thongprasert, both from Thailand, are the creative duo behind avant-garde Antwerp-based jewellery label, Ek Thongprasert. The playful duo initially met as students during their first degree at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in the year 2000. Following graduation, Passama moved on to Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, renowned for fine arts and contemporary jewellery design. Thongprasert went on to join Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world, which has produced some of the most well respected fashion designers including Dries van Noten, Peter Pilotto, Ann Demeulemeester and Martin Margiela. The fashion-forward Belgian jewellery label delivers a one-of-a-kind line of heirloom-inspired silhouettes, which ingeniously fuses high octane old-school glamour with modern day innovation by substituting precious metals with silicone and strikingly accented with vibrant coloured crystals. These show-stopping silicone pieces have been coveted by the crème-de-la-crème of the global fashion set from Italian blogger, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad to Russian style maven Natasha Goldenberg. The luxe jewellery label is also a favourite of Russian fashion icon Miroslava Duma, Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, British supermodel Kate Moss, American style icon Olivia Palermo and flamboyant Vogue Nippon Editor-in-Chief Anna Dello Russo. An Ek Thongprasert neckpiece is a worthwhile addition to every woman’s jewellery box and the perfect way to add a little sparkle and splash of colour to any ensemble. Ek Thongprasert jewels can be paired with almost anything – from jeans and a t-shirt to corporate wear to an elegant evening gown. Whether teamed with basic wardrobe pieces for laidback everyday dressing or dressed up in evening dresses, these statement pieces will inevitably become an instant wardrobe must-have. The most recent Ek Thongprasert collection delivers an assortment of captivating colour creations with a major focus on art-deco silhouettes. This season sees a much moodier and darker colour palette than the previous collection.  The Edison necklace is a perfect option for those who adore the silicone crafted heirloom-silhouette neckpiece without the crystal embellishment. The Edison necklace is available in Greener (a deep Emerald green); the Archer Heights necklace is a crowd pleaser as the design is enough to make a bold statement, however, not too overpowering. The Archer Heights necklace is available Ruby Wine and Amethyst, soothing sea and amethyst, soothing sea and olive, peacoat blue and garnet. This season, Thongprasert has introduced metallic accents to draw attention to the jeweled masterpiece.
