Thai-born designers, Noon Passama and Ek Thongprasert, are the creative masterminds behind Antwerp-based jewellery label, Ek Thongprasert. The playful duo initially met as students during their first degree at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in the year 2000. Following graduation, Passama moved on to Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, renowned for fine arts and contemporary jewelry design. Thongprasert went on to join Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, one of the most prominent fashion schools in the world, which has produced many celebrated designers including Dries van Noten, Peter Pilotto, Ann Demeulemeester and Martin Margiela. The Belgian jewellery label has put the limelight on statement jewellery with an eclectic, avant-garde line of pieces that fuse the old-school glamour of heirloom treasures with contemporary and futuristic innovation substituting precious metals with an indefinite silicone and accented with coloured crystals. Ek Thongprasert’s lavish silicone neckpieces have adorned the necklines of stylish it-girls worldwide from Italian blogger, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad to Russian street-style maven Natasha Goldenberg. The desirable jewellery label is also a favourite of Russian fashion icon Miroslava Duma. This season Ek Thongprasert delivers another standout collection, inspired by the Art Deco era and 1920’s architecture. In contrast to previous seasons, this season sees much less emphasis placed on jewels and a central focus on elaborate silicone silhouettes.  The Black Barlow and P. Ellen Houston Necklace feature structured silicone inspired by architectural buildings. Both the Black Barlow and P. Ellen Houston necklaces are available in white, beige, lavendula, baby blue, amparo blue, buttercup and tomato. The Aconitum necklace features a single flower row of silcone and is available in white, beige, lavendula, baby blue, amparo blue, buttercup and tomato. The H. Macrophulia necklace features two rows of layer floral silicone with metallic accents and is available in beige, lavendula, baby blue, amparo blue, butter cup and tomato. After being such a hit among stylish women across the globe, Ek Thongprasert earrings make reappearance this season. Radiant crystals are offset by smooth silicone making them a must-have accessory to add instant glamour and opulence to any outfit. The Babiana Rubrocyanea earrings, named after a vibrant flower from the Iris family, are available in three diverse colour combinations – Excalibur silicone with rudbeckia hirta marmalade setting, baby blue silicone with rudbeckia hirta marmalade setting, and amparo blue silicone with green goddess setting.
