For the Pre-Fall 15 collection, Clare Waight Keller turned to music as her design guidance, using two major artists from the 60s and 70s as the starting point for the French fashion house's latest offerings. Chloe is a French fashion house founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Prior to Chloé's launch, luxury fashion houses had only ever produced Haute Couture - made-to-measure - clothing. For the few who could afford it, this was fine; everyone else was left with poorly made copies, supplied by local seamstresses. Gaby Aghion, rejecting the stiff formality of 1950s fashion (and sensing a gap in the market), decided to create a line of off the rack, high quality, luxury, soft, body conscious clothes from fine fabrics, which she called 'luxury prêt-à-porter' and thus, the Prêt-à-Porter (Ready To Wear) market we know today, was born. For over 10 years, Chloe bags, starting with the Paddington, have seemed to be the most coveted IT bags of every season. This season is no different. The world’s most sought after bag is back, the Chloé Drew. The curved satchel featuring major hardware was spotted adorning the arms of fashion royalty like Caroline Issa and Yasmin Sewell as well as bloggers like Leandra Medine and Aimee Song. We are very excited for the season’s Drew bags as this will be the first season they offer silver hardware! We will be receiving the Drew bags in the small, medium and large sizes in mottled grey, abstract white, chestnut cream, plaid red and classic black. There is the Medium Drew shoulder bag with leather straps and a grain leather. We will also have the small shoulder bags with either gold chains or silver chains. And finally you have the option of the mini shoulder bags with either gold chains or silver chains. See the drew bag in black worn here by the beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. This season, shop in store or online for the Marcie bags in small and medium sizes. Made from calfskin, they are available in tan and gingerbread colours.
