Parlour X has added French fashion house Céline to its portfolio with the welcome of the Céline Resort 2015 collection. Since the conception of Céline in 1945, the brand has grown under the influence of various designers including Michael Kors. Céline is currently headed by former Chloé Design Director Phoebe Philo who was awarded the title of International Designer of the Year for her work at Céline. With Philo’s unmatchable emphasis on creating quality, functional clothes that focus on pristine tailoring and materials, there is no better time to welcome Céline to Parlour X because we know you’re in good hands. The Resort collection brings a sense of serenity and sweetness to the summer fashion story, with Philo attempting to move away from the traditionally stricter, more edited looks of Céline’s past collections. The striped long sleeve dresses, in both red and green, are light and flowing, maintaining the sophistication of French luxury while at the same time adding a youthful, feminine touch to the season. Céline fits in well with the trend of summer knits that has infiltrated Parlour X, and the world of high fashion, this season. The sleeveless sweater features fringed detail on the hem that maintains quality tailoring, while diverting from traditional Céline looks at the same time. The pants in this collection represent Philo’s intention to diversify, with some such as the Carot Pants, featuring an elastic waist, while other such as the Tapered Pant are cropped with a sporty flare at the ankle. The Céline pants, both in black, can be paired with this season’s take on the leather jacket and a blue CVG scarf, for a “lighter” dark summer look. Elegance and allure is ever present in any Céline collection and this season it is represented by the sleeveless, chain strap woven top and sleeveless strap dress both in black that mask summer ease and simplicity with a modern take on classic French glamour.
