This season, the classic styles that have gained a cult following including the likes of Anna Della Russo and Giovanna Battaglia return in bold, seasonal tones. Spring/Summer 2016 also introduces stunning new styles to the Celine bags range, making it one of Celine’s most exciting and game-lifting high-fashion accessory collections of the year. The staple Celine Luggage bags come in three different sizes this season, starting with the Medium Phantom Luggage bag. The functional piece comes in a supple slightly grained calfskin fabrication in a blonde colour wave with gold hardware, black, grained calfskin with gold hardware, or a quartz (light grey) colour wave in grained calfskin with gold hardware. Creative director Phoebe Philo demonstrates her expansive range through the playful use of colour to revitalise her signature staples. The Mini Luggage (30x30x17cm) and the Micro Luggage (26x26x14cm) bags are smaller alternatives provided to suit the woman-on-the-go and cater to any outfit or occasion. Both pieces are made of bullhide with the Mini coming in a white front colour wave with black suede sides and gold hardware, and the Micro featuring a taupe front with orange suede sides and black trimming, also with gold hardware. The next piece of the story walks alone as a statement piece, and is the Medium Phantom Cotton Canvas bag in red ochre, featuring gold hardware and black leather handles. The beach style piece is a stylish and sophisticated go-to for a summer’s day out. The most creative of the bag series’ this season is the Celine Mini Belt Bag story.  Featuring a shoulder strap and gold hardware, the Mini Belt bag is Celine’s latest cult phenomenon that is a must-have piece in every woman’s wardrobe. The grained leather varieties come in colour waves of black, light taupe, bottle green, grey and light forest, with its supersoft calfskin counterparts featuring in black or burgundy with white contrast stitching, for an even more sophisticated alternative. Celine introduces the elegant Trotteur story in this collection. Appearing in medium and small size waves, the Trotteur is a unique cross body made of grained calfskin. The Medium sizes come in black and light anthracite with gold hardware, and its smaller counterparts come in black, light anthracite, light forest, and jade emphasising the themes of nature and prominence of green in this collection. Another new arrival is the Celine Sangle Tote Bag. Featuring a canvas strap and a big front pocket, the everyday piece comes in textured goatskin black or navy with gold hardware or supersoft calfskin in tan with gold hardware, to cater to any style or mood. The Celine Cabas Tote bags are also a recurring favourite in this collection. First in the series is the black Horizontal Cabas Tote in grained calfskin featuring gold hardware as seen on Buro 24/7 Founder Miroslava Duma. The next part of the story is the small vertical Cabas tote range featuring a cross body strap in black grained calfskin with gold hardware, grained calfskin in navy/red ochre with gold hardware, or white/quartz grained calfskin with gold hardware. Alternatively, there is also the small Cabas tote with a belt in soft-grained calfskin black or taupe, to fit all the essentials. A Celine bag collection would be incomplete without a selection of the infamous Celine Trios. Both the large and small Trios this season feature in smooth lambskin in burgundy or tan, reflecting Phoebe Philo’s intention to create trans-seasonal pieces that can be adapted to any outfit or occasion. Lastly, there is the statement Celine Hobo bag. The technically medium, but actually quite small sized bag is fabricated in Palmelato calfskin and features in a tan colour wave complimenting the natural themes that underpin this stunning collection.
