“I feel like I’ve graduated; it’s the last day of school,” said Alexander Wang at the end of the Balenciaga Spring Summer Show at Paris Fashion Week. The show was minimalist in aesthetic with pools elevated in the centre of the runway, and the protagonist was white in all its glory, from ruffled slip dresses to trousers and crop-top pairings. Balenciaga SS16 was poetic in its storytelling and portrayed femininity and sensuality in its uniquely sophisticated form, as demonstrated by the delicate, romantic, sporty pieces that came down the runway. The slightly cropped blouse, unlike its 100% cotton counterpart, is %100 polyester and also comes in black or white. This piece is ideal for a smart casual occasion and can be paired with the Balenciaga Midi A-Line jersey cotton skirt in black for a composed, sophisticated and feminine look. The Balenciaga Fluid V Top is a slightly cropped, short-sleeved V-Neck blouse, also featuring an exaggerated sleeve and drape detail at the front. This stunning piece in white or black displays the sense of elegant femininity that overrides this collection and is a must-have for every sophisticated woman’s wardrobe this season. There is always a standout piece in a Balenciaga collection and Runway SS16 is no different. The Balenciaga Delicate Dress  is a sleeveless, V-neck camisole piece with a fluted skirt and open stitched seam under the bust and at the hemline.
