Acne Pre-SS17 seemed to demonstrate an impulse towards care and comfort: many of the looks throughout the collection were based on – or literally comprised – blankets and scarves. With a series of loose-knitted sweater dresses, some with gold braid trims, looking as if they were wonderfully authentic spin-offs of traditional Moroccan blankets. Paisley-patterned shirts and dresses in fluid shapes with pleated sashes recalled Indian saris. Giant jumpers with Aztec-tinged patterns and a chic apple green or mustard trim looked like exactly the kind of sloppy jumper most of us gravitate towards in lieu of a coat during summer nights, slipped over a cotton dress. A denim jacket with exposed stitching had a whiff of vintage work wear about it and imbued a stripy tasselled dress with a get-up-and-go purpose. Many of the girls wore pointed Byzantine slippers; many of the front row earmarked jewel-studded moccasins for purchase. Continuing this season also showcased Acne’s statement footwear, classic and modern, Acne has comprised season after season a reputation for incredibly crafted and highly desired footwear. Starting the collection of must-have footwear where the Jensen ankle boots in smooth leather, featured in both black and brick red. The Jensen ankle boots are incredibly crated with a classic pull on style and pointed toe. A wardrobe investment and staple, the Jensen ankle boots give an extra edge and cool-factor to any ensemble, pair these with a pair of high-waisted jeans or midi-skirt and elevate your style immediately. These boots are a currently favourite of Olivia Wilde and Jada Pinkett-Smith.   Alternatively for a more edger look and chic-rocker vibe, look to the Acne Jenny low ankle boot, featured in black smooth leather or a more textured black suede. The Jenny low ankle is a celebrity wardrobe must-have which has been spotted on Jessica Alba and Rosie Huntington Whiteley to name a few.
