Sydney-based illustrator and creative Hélène Chassay lent her creative talents to the Parlour X boutique windows, creating a whimsical vista to celebrate the Easter period. The inspiration behind her bespoke drawings? The change of seasons, as well as the latest designer arrivals from Isabel Marant, Valentino and Emilio Pucci. Read on to hear more from the maker of this stylish, Easter wonderland.   How did you get your start as an illustrator and artist? Ever since I was little I loved to draw. My favourite thing was to make “interactive” birthday cards for my friends and family. I was the quintessential nerd and the only one who signed up for calligraphy class after school. I immigrated to Australia at the age of 17, which was a very difficult time and drawing was always a wonderful escape. I then studied fashion design at the Whitehouse Institute and my passion for creativity just kept growing. I now enjoy working on various creative projects from branding, invitations, styling and illustration. What is it about the medium that you love? For my window illustrations I seem to always be drawn to using white and playing with shapes together with positive and negative space. In terms of my printed graphic work and invitations, I tend always mix different mediums and am passionate about anything handmade. What was the inspiration behind the artwork you created for Parlour X? I wanted to create something ethereal and Autumnal, yet still portray the exclusivity and specialness that Parlour X is known for. I always do my best when collaborating with others to ensure that both parties are felt in the end design. How will you be celebrating Easter this year? I have my family visiting from overseas and it will just be wonderful for us to all spend time together. Aside from illustration, you also create fabulous bespoke events. Any tips for making get-togethers at home feel a bit more ‘special’? Keeping things simple is always the best way to go. Being organised and preparing things beforehand will ensure that you are more relaxed and can enjoy your time with your guests. Good music, good wine and simply lighting a few candles will create a beautiful ambience.     helene chassay easter parlour x helene chassay easter parlour x helene chassay easter parlour x helene chassay easter parlour x You can find Hélène on Instagram at @helene_chassay.
